One mistake that quietly costs sellers thousands✨
Let's talk marketing for just a hot minute, because that is really where IT is at!
From plenty of advertisement research in the marketing world, we know that our eyes are drawn to colorful items first in a photo or space. So, when staging, I say, let's use that to our advantage! With strategic placement of furnishings and decor, I can draw the eye to the "money-making" features in each room.
Before Staging: The pink paint overwhelmed the room, as did the heavy drapery. The drapes hid the best asset in the room — the window.
After: An inviting, comfortable, highly marketable room.
What did your eyes go to first in the "after" picture? The large window with the bright blue bench? I mean, who even knew that window was so gorgeous?! I put the bench in front of the front window strategically because that is where the money is in this room.
The way the furniture is arranged also leads the eye directly to the window.
The Takeaway for you:
As a stager who focuses on marketing, I want to make sure buyers see those money-features and are drawn to them first in each room.
Then they can emotionally fall in love with the rest of each room.
We use design strategies continually in staging — in this case, drawing the eye to exactly what I wanted it to notice first.
